Sally is a painter. She has a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and an MA in Landscape Studies, both from the University of the West of England, Bristol. She also has a BA (Hons) in English Literature from Bristol University. She has taught at the Bristol School of Art and the Bristol Folk House. She has exhibited her work nationally, including London and the RWA Bristol. She was formerly Co-ordinator for the LAND2 network.

Sally’s practice is concerned with spatial relationships and is centred around her home and places she has known well. She is interested in the way that place and space are visually experienced both in the present moment and in memory, through a combination of broad view and particular detail. Her work has elements of both abstraction and figuration and she enjoys the interplay between representation and imagination. A recurrent preoccupation in her work is that of the permeability of thresholds, and interchanges across boundaries between inside and outside spaces.

All work shown on these pages are oil on canvas, 2010 - 2012, and range in size from 30cm x 40cm to 100cm x 150 cms.
