In memory of Dr Judith Tucker
It was with real shock and very great sadness that we learned of Judy Tucker’s death in a fatal car accident earlier this week.
Judy has been absolutely central to LAND2 since she and Iain set it up over twenty years ago and her sudden death is an inestimable blow both to LAND2 and to art education as a whole. Judy was passionate about her work, her collaboration with her partner Harriet Tarlo, and about teaching. Always generous with her energy, she was a passionate advocate for LAND2 and for the work of its members, as her recent co-curation of Arcadia for all? Rethinking Landscape Painting Now, originally shown at Leeds University and now at Attenborough Arts Centre, made very clear. We are sure that all members of LAND2 will recognise the very great debt we owe her and will wish to join us in offering our most sincere condolences to Harriet and to Judy’s colleagues at Leeds University.
