 Land2/PLaCE International Research Networks Event: 29 Jan.’15, 9:30am-6pm
3rd Annual Art & Humanities Postgraduate Conference: 30 Jan. ’15, 9:30am-5:30pm

On Thursday, 29 Jan., network members will enjoy presentations from various invited speakers, responding to a brief text taken from Vibrant Matters book by Jane Bennett. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Peta Hinton, currently Research Fellow at the Berlin Institute for Cultural Inquiry, and co-editor of New Materialisms. She is an interdisciplinary scholar, a political theorist, philosopher, and feminist, who will discuss Vibrant Matter in a way that frames questions about materialisms, philosophy and possible applications that open out in creative practice.

On 30 Jan., postgraduate students are warmly invited to attend a series of presentations by doctoral students from several universities, responded to by a panel of four senior academics, in which the extended concerns of Vibrant Matters are also considered across practice-based and place-based research.

Details to follow. Information about inexpensive accommodation will be sent to all who wish to attend. No conference fees; on Thursday, lunch and teas for waged will be £10/£5 for students. On Friday, £5 each for brown bag comestible art.
